APPALACHE

Appalache is Julien Magot, past-member of Jin Baker. He decided to make it first as a side project but things happens and now it is his main project. He tries to play a music that is similar with whom he is. He believes in the influence of life in the music.

To describe his music so far, he uses the Proust quote “The only paradise is paradise lost”. Music is according to him a self-therapy of all his daemons. Hunting crocodile, head banging, and the zouk path are his main passions.

MICHAEL JAMES TAPSCOTT

Michael James Tapscott is one half of internationally acclaimed fringe folk darlings, ODAWAS, but also an entire universe unto himself.

Taking psychotropic paths through forgotten exotic literature, extrapolating mysticism from the shag-toothed street peddlers, his is a world of wonder that seethes just below the surface of yer perspective skull jellies. Stitched together from an electric eclectic sonic palette where synthesizers sigh next to the jingle-jangle buzz of 12 steel strings and the plitter-patter purr of cybernetic drum circles.

And here is Michael, eyes wild and green, with his hand outstretched, some secret curling across his lips as they part, and he asks, "Would you to take a journey, old friend?" Assuming you didn't throw up, then hope that's OK. Be excited about where we can go together, regardless of where we might be.

ODAWAS

Odawas is a psychedelic / cinematic / new-wave / folk band that formed in Bloomington, Indiana in 2003.
In 2005, Jagjaguwar Records released “The Aether Eater”, the band's first full-length album. While recording a follow-up record, singer and songwriter Michael Tapscott produced a home-recorded solo record under the moniker More Animals of the Arctic. “An Appendix of Whaling Terms” was released in 2006 by Standard Recording Company. 2007 saw the release of “Raven and the White Night” on Jagjaguwar. The album found the band crafting material that blended the songwriting of Tapscott's solo work and the ambient textures developed by synth player and producer Isaac Edwards.
In 2008 Tapscott and Edwards relocated to Chicago, IL and began recording their next album “The Blue Depths”, which was released in 2009. They are now in the San Francisco area where they have been playing with long time fellow Indiana musician Connor O'Sullivan. After having released Tapscott’s second collaboration with Andrew Kenower in 2012, Parisian based label Bookmaker Records releases “Reflections of a Pink Laser”, Odawas’ first record in five years.

PYRIT

In 2013, after finishing his studies in Zurich‘s Film Academy, director and musician Thomas Kuratli moved from Switzerland to Paris. He first set out on his journey with the intention of writing the screenplay to a movie he had in previously mapped out in his mind, however as time passed, these thoughts were more at home in the musical devices within his grasp. And in a small Parisian basement Pyrit was born. Desires, questions and anxiety melted together into one musical entity and embodied Thomas’ own musically cosmos. The result was “UFO”, the soundtrack to a nonexistent movie. The album was released in 2015 by Paris based label Bookmaker Records and became a somewhat unexpected small sensation.

Pyrit specifically created a setup for his stage shows to control the light and sound of his spherical electronica music, performing in clubs and festivals around Switzerland and France (Bad Bonn Kilbi, Label Suisse, Transmusicales de Rennes, Antigel Genf, OOAM Festival Baden...).

In 2017, “UFO” has been repressed in a remastered edition by US Label Robotic Empire and Bookmaker Records. With “UFO” Pyrit started a journey that needs to be continued. More complex, elaborated and futuristic, the next station is : “Control”.

SEABUCKTHORN

Seabuckthorn is the solo project of UK acoustic guitarist Andy Cartwright. Releasing 6 albums since 2008 he explores alternative terrains on six to twelve strings, often with minimal layered accompaniments to produce a musical landscape. Cartwright uses the techniques of finger picking & bowing combined with various open tunings to form a well curated mixture of approaches. Falling into the cinematic and soundtrack genre's, it's evident of influences ranging from the traditional styles of Robbie Basho and Jack Rose, to more modern players like Ben Chasny, Zak Riles, and Gustavo Santaolalla with whom Cartwright shares an emphasis on atmospheric and multi-instrumental compositions. Sometimes quietly ambient, often powerfully expressive.

SUNFIGHTER

Sunfighter is American multi-instrumentalist Steven Siciliano's latest project.
Steven plays a warm, mostly instrumental music that may recall Pink Floyd in some uncluttered version. Between meditative drone and deep hypnotic psychedelism.

Steven describes Sunfighter’s approach as follows :

"I really feel that there is so much more to be influenced by then just music. Music can be the audio to our true nature, it has to exsist well beyond the conventions of our music industry and even beyond our understanding as it is now.

I truly think it can be a vehicle of sorts. And music is just part of this 'magical' equation. Personally I find my influences coming more from silence, sunny mornings, the birds migrating here in spring, farming and just being part of this whole thing that is much greater than me. It's humbling and awesome. These mysteries are in a sense, the food Sunfighter was reared on. It's a culmination of my life experiences to this point and Sunfighter, I believe will grow with me.

Sunfighter takes a more organic approach, but I wanted it to have more weight then anything I had done in The White Lodge, sonically I think I'm achieving that. Ultimately Sunfighter might be more of an open question then an answer. In the end that's what comes through."

Some songs off "Golden Eagle of Illumination" were featured on an unreleased CDr of his former project The White Lodge. As Bookmaker Records intended to release this CDr, Steven took the decision to completly re-interpret and re-record the whole opus under the name Sunfighter. Several new songs have been added to the first version.
